Barrick was still in 8th at 6:02, but only by 0.02. After 5 laps, Brown still led at 7:11 with Kliner now just sitting on her shoulder at the same time. Winfield's Mia Duterte moved into 2nd just prior to the final hurdle and took the spot in 47.29. Roane's Josie Cox challenged Horne for 200 meters but a stumble over the next-to-last hurdle broke most of her momentum and she settled for 3rd in 48.48. 4x800 Meter Relay
Elkins bolted out to the early lead on a 2:26 leg from Emilia Tenney. They distanced themselves from the field, and it was very close after them. I believe it was Shady Spring in 2nd at 2:32 with Oak Glen and Braxton at 2:33 in 3rd and 4th. Weir, Grafton, and Frankfort were next through at 2:34 in 5th through 7th. I think Winfield was in 8th. On the 2nd leg, Oak Glen got a big kick from Lacey Cameron who moved from 6th to 1st in the final 150, putting Oak Glen into the lead. However, Winfield had a better handoff and officially had the lead after 2 legs with both at 5:08. Frankfort moved up to 3rd at 5:10 with Weir in 4th at 5:11. Shady Spring was in 5th at 5:12 with Elkins matching that in 6th. Braxton was in 7th at 5:15 with Grafton in 8th. On leg 3, Frankfort moved into the lead and established a nice gap, coming through at 7:42. Winfield was in 2nd at 7:47. Weir was in 3rd at 7:52 with Braxton getting a strong close to move into 4th, also at 7:52. Elkins was in 5th at 7:54. I think Oak Glen was in 6th at 7:58 and Grafton in 7th at 7:59. Shady Spring was hanging onto the 8th spot at 8:08. Frankfort was not challenged on the final leg with Bailey Ferguson closing it out with a 2:27 leg, giving the unit of Addison Lease, Addison Tharp, Paisley Raines, and Bailey Ferguson the win in 10:10.05. Winfield easily held the 2nd spot in 10:17.81. Weir held the 3rd spot in 10:22.90, just holding off Grafton, who moved all the way up to 4th in 10:23.40 after a 2:23 anchor leg from Emily Viani. Elkins took the 5th spot in 10:25.43. Oak Glen got the 6th position in 10:32.11 with Braxton in 7th in 10:33.12. Keyser moved into the 8th spot with a 10:44.92.

This one was marred by 4 disqualifications, each for a different reason. Included in that were 3 of my predicted placers. Winfield led from the start, but they were challenged all the way by Weir. It shook out with Winfield taking the win in 1:06.51 with Weir in 2nd in 1:06.96. They were nearly 3 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. East Fairmont picked up the 3rd spot in 1:09.68, getting the spot narrowly over fellow Heat 3 competitors Independence, who clocked a 1:09.73. Shady Spring took the 5th spot in 1:10.17 with Keyser in 6th in 1:10.39. No one else was under 1:11.
RunWV's Current Score: 85 of 104

The final score of 119 of 144 means that 82.6% of the people picked to place did indeed place. That's 8 worse than last year, but last year was a really good set. Congratulations to those that proved me wrong.
